After much waiting, we did recently get some good news about Walt Before Mickey. Beginning August 14th, our little film, which will be released domestically by Voltage Pictures and internationally by Mission Pictures, will come to theaters in a limited release. Although we are also working on other venues, for now, WBM will be showing at AMC Cinemas, Downtown Disney starting August 14th as well as across the country in the Bow Tie Cinemas family of movie theaters.
We are very excited to see where this goes. Obviously, if the movie does well during this limited release, it would be extended in those venues and perhaps other theater chains will hop on board.
At the moment, it seems that our release plan includes a “self distribution” angle leading up to the TV, DVD and VOD release in the late fall. So, that gives us over three months to get our film to the theatrical market and see what kind of buzz we can create.
Although Khoa and I are already hard at work in getting our next film to pre-production, we are keeping a watchful eye on the rollout and success of Walt Before Mickey. After all, for the moment, it is our calling card as a partnership.
Brandini is on its way and we’ll have some news on the new film slate very soon. Kvibe Productions and CTS are also working on a killer social media campaign for this next one. Everything is going to be strategically and systematically laid out. No stone left unturned. As investors come in to this, we are going to show them how manageable budget independent film making is done. From concept to creation to post production to marketing. It’s going to get interesting very soon.
