It’s Monday and you know what that means…we just released a brand new episode of Kvibe TV and you can check it out below!
Kvibe TV is our all new original YouTube channel intended not just for filmmakers, film buffs, and, in this episode’s case, Disney fans, but for anyone trying to grow a company or build a career.
This week’s episode, Walt Before Mickey EP1 (PT 3) – How Film Editing Can Save a Film Script, is the newest installment of a 4-part series in which Kvibe founder and Walt Before Mickey director Khoa Le and head editor Lauren Young share their stories and experiences from their time working on the film.
If you missed the first two parts, you can get all caught up by heading to the Kvibe TV page, but if you want to just jump in now, in Part 1, Khoa and Lauren discussed how they got involved in the project and the risks they and Kvibe Productions had to take to get it done.
Last week, they went on to discuss some of the production’s challenges, including the fact that there were two different versions of the script when they arrived on set. They also talked about some of the additional opportunities the project presented for their company, such as editing the film, and how getting involved wasn’t just about completing their first feature but also about continuing to grow so they could make more movies in the future.
In this week’s episode of Kvibe TV, Walt Before Mickey EP1 (PT 3) – How Film Editing Can Save a Film Script, Khoa and Lauren discuss the challenges of adapting a book into a film—especially such a detail-oriented book as the one the film is based on—and of working with an uninspired script and people who are tied to it.
Like mentioned in last week’s episode, there were multiple versions of the script when Khoa and Lauren joined the Walt Before Mickey production and they had their work cut out for them. In this installment of Kvibe TV, they talk about how they managed to inject new life and energy into the story throughout production and in the editing room.
The whole point of this 4-part series and of Kvibe TV as a whole is to share our stories and experiences and pass on some of what we’ve learned in our time growing a company in the film & video industry. Hopefully, whether you’re an independent filmmaker or just trying to build a business or career, you can take something from this and all future episodes of Kvibe TV!
