Strive to squeeze $1 out of 25 cents

In this music industry, you really have be in it for the love of it.  Money shouldn’t even cross your mind. It should be enjoyable and stress free!Whenever you feel it’s “work”, then it might be something you shouldn’t get into…

For starters, if you’re an artist, songwriter, producer, or talent scout, I can gaurantee you will be doing it for free at least the first 2 years. When you have some demand for work, then you will experience the strive to squeeze a dollar out of 25 cents.

I’ve been very lucky in my life where I met a lot of people that mentored me through this music business. Unfortunately, sometimes you just don’t really get it until you go through it. I’ve been through the rings of fire where scars can be seen in my eyes. It can take the wind out of you when someone steals your idea and music, breaking promises, scheme against you due to hate, and having deals presented to you then taken back. Well you get the idea. It’s the nature of the beast when you’re in this business. You just have to educate yourself as much as possible to train and prepare yourself for those situations because they come in many different forms and shapes.

If there was a formula on how to be successful in the industry, then many would be successful. There’s really no formula. Even a hit record won’t bring you the success you hope for….look at the 1 hit wonders. However, deep down in my heart, I truly believe that if you love what you do, staying true to yourself and others, and learn from your mistakes that success will arrive to your front door.

I believe success is obtained when your heart is settled and satisfied in anything you do in life. Having lots of money doesn’t mean you’re successful. Thanks for reading and the support!
